1985 - 2009 : Professeur Université Bordeaux Segalen (creation of the INSERM lab: 'Mitochondrial Physiology' devoted to the study of the mitochondrial energy metabolism and mitochondrial diseases.)
1972 - 1985 : Maître de Conférences in Biochemistry, Université BORDEAUX 2 (kinetic properties of beef tryptophanyl-tRNA synthase (fast kinetics)- Control of oxidative phosphorylation in yeast and rat muscle mitochondria).
1977 : Thesis: 'L'aspartokinase sensible à la lysine d'Escherichia coli K 12 comme système allostérique de type V - Généralisations' ('Allosteric properties of lysine-sensitive asportokinase of E.coli').
1968 - 1972 : Maître-Assistant University Paris-Sud (Universite Paris-Sud Orsay).

Research

Current Research Interests: Virtual mitochondrion.
Virtual Mitochondria is a project of a multilevel modelling of mitochondrial bioenergy metabolism (See the schematic figure).
It involves:
  • the stochastic modelling of electron transfers in respiratory chain complexes and super complexes and ROS production.
  • a global model of respiratory chain using simple but thermodynamical correct kinetics equations developed for the respiratory chain complexes.
  • simple and comprehensive models of central energy metabolism in cell.
  • the organization of mitochondrial network (fusion/fission) and its dependency upon the energy metabolism.
